In 1969 Pink Floyd performed a series of concerts entitled "The Massed Gadgets of Auximines". These concerts were in the form of a concept piece divided into two suites: The Man and The Journey. These suites consisted mainly of existing songs re-titled to suit the concept.
It was originally planned to release this concept as an album in it's own right but considering a lot of the songs had already been released on previous albums (chiefly Piper at the Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful of Secrets and More) it was not to be. Other songs used in the piece were to appear later on Ummagumma and Relics. Three tracks never made it to official release.
Some of the concerts can be found on a number of bootlegs (RoIOs) with varying sound quality. The best of these (sound wise) is The Complete Concertgebouw 69 which was recorded from Dutch radio station VPRO.
The fact that this brilliant concept piece was never officially released is what prompted me to create this site. The purpose of which is to help fans recreate the album that should have been. This is done by simply recording the tracks from the official sources in the right order and burning them onto a CD (or copying on to tape if you don't have the required equipment). Unfortunately this doesn't help us with the tracks that never made it to official release. These tracks can be found on the Files page in this site. They have been taken from the Concertgebouw 69 RoIO and been edited slightly.
